I realized something soon after the Umaru Collection was release: it has be a . . . w h i l e . . . since I’ve done a proper, freebie, tutorial! So it seemed like if I were to do something, it’d better be SUPER special! I started brainstorming how versatile the Baka the Hooded Blanket Pattern is because it’s such a fun pattern that could be transformed in a plethora of ways! I started making a list that started at 13… then 20… and ended up with 31 very different ways to remake the Baka! Of course some are much simpler than others, so the sewing skill-set you need varies from beginner to intermediate sewists.

Baka 4 Baka free E-Book with 31+ remixes for Baka the Hooded Blanket PDF Pattern by Sew Chibi Designs! 31+ remixes, 25 new pattern extras and (editable) templates! Perfect for Halloween or any holiday gift! The remixes in the Baka 4 Baka e-book have not been tested. Sew at your own risk! Small-scale home based crafters are welcome to sell finished garments of non-licensed characters made with the pattern listed here (at their own risk) but only if the listing includes a URL reference to the Sew Chibi Designs online shop (www.sewchibidesigns.com/shop) even if the pattern was modified and customized. Sew Chibi Designs will not be held liable if garments resembling popular characters are sold by other parties illegally.

All of the new Baka 4 Baka features are split up into two main file groups: Extra Patterns and Add-on Templates. The Extra patterns are graded exactly the same way the original Baka the Hooded Blanket is, with sizing from 12M-16Y and the Add-on templates are grouped small, medium, and large. They are all layered and grouped together with the tutorials in one, tidy PDF file. The extra files within the zipped folder are editable versions of the Add-on Templates. This way, if you need to, say, resize a set of eyes to be somewhere in between the medium and large template, you can! There’s an in-depth tutorial on how to navigate Photoshop (or photo editing freeware like Gimp, etc.) in order customize all of the template features! I even made editable files for the Face Templates (from the original Baka the Hooded Blanket). So, if you’ve previously bought the pattern, email me and I will send you the editable versions of those!

There are more patterns that would work really well for underneath of the Baka up in my pattern shop! Mix and match and have fun with it!

And that just about covers it! Even as I was wrapping up on Baka 4 Baka, I was still having ideas for new remixes so stay tuned for another round of Baka remix tutorials! if you have any ideas for Baka remixes, send me an email and I'll consider them for the next time!
